Some of my facebook (real) friends responded to my comment about today not being my favorite day with this quote from Gone With The Wind. The last 24 hours could not be over any faster other than my intense and absurd fascination with all things Robert Pattinson, of course.
Shnook, who dutifully got over nine hours of puking by the break of dawn, gave me a run for my money today, complete with leaving his teeth imprints on Fuzz's big toe.
For the most part, I love his brilliant observations, his sense of humor and his ability to connect. When cleaning the toys today:
"Mommy, you focus on the train tracks, I'll focus on the blocks."
Obviously the biting (hitting/throwing things/screaming) is not my favorite aspect of his personality, but there's a new side to comedian Shnook that I'm a little on the fence about. It's a shtick I've heard graces the routines of many a 2, 3, 4 (17, 38) year old boy (or girl). It's the poop shtick:
"Mommy, I'm eating poopy!"
"What's that, poopy?"
"I'm gonna poopy on youpy!"
"Are those poo-poo noodles?"
"You know what's really nice, Mommy? Butter and toast and poop!"
I guess it was bound to happen. On the one hand, there's probably nothing I can do about it. I can ignore it, which is not really in my nature. Besides, it's best to get it out of the system early, if that's even possible.
On the other hand, it makes his brother laugh like crazy! So, in that respect, I encourage it. Listen, poop is going to be in our lives for a long time. Might as well enjoy it with toast.
